Inner Station

The vastness of space and the idea of large structures in space inspire my imagination. “Inner Station” is a depiction of a very large space craft docked inside of  a giant space station. In the drawing we only see a small part of the interior of the station. The space craft has entered through a long narrow portal from the outside. The concept of the drawing is an exercise in prespective: a long narrow vertical channel bisected by a horizontal plane. There are small ports in the walls along the sides, and lights in the ceiling of the horizontal plane. The symbols are unintelligible and unfamiliar. The craft has landing gear extended, but is hovering in space.

Product Description

Inner Station is a 14″x17″ pen and ink drawing, drawn using a .25 mm Rapidograph pen and black India ink. The initial design was created using a pencil, compass, ruler and protractor. After creating an initial drawing concept in pencil, I drew all of the detail with ink. All shapes are drawn completely freehand. This drawing is available in 8×10, 11×14, and 16×20 archival quality prints. The 16×20 print has the same dimensions as the original drawing, just printed on slightly larger paper.
