Orthogonal Structure

This drawing is intended to portray a real object suspended in space. The object  is an abstract structure composed of hollow blocks and rectangular boxes, spheres, and rods. Each symmetrical component is identical in shape, size and alignment. Some branches of the object expand beyond the boundary of the drawing and may be connected to unseen structures continuing off of the page. The background is intended to create the illusion of great height above an artificial plane in an alien world. This drawing is also an experiment in drawing with primary colors.

Product Description

This is a  pen and ink drawing, drawn using a .25 mm Rapidograph pen and ink. The initial design was created using a pencil, ruler and protractor. After creating an initial drawing concept in pencil, I drew all of the detail with ink. All shapes are drawn completely freehand. This drawing is available in 8×10, 11×14, and 16×20 archival quality prints. The 16×20 print has the same dimensions as the original drawing, just printed on slightly larger paper.
