Machines and mechanical structures

I have always had an affinity for machines: large industrial machines, generators, electric motors, aircraft engines, turbines, diesel engines, power generation equipment, and various mechanical structures found in large industrial facilities, mines and military applications. Experiments in perspective

My art can generally be classified by these basic themes: geometry, symbols, machines, structures, science fiction and perspective.  In this blog post, I will address one of my favorite themes: perspective. In these drawings, I have attempted to use perspective to create an imaginary space where objects and structures exist. In 1986, I started experimenting with color drawings. It was hard to find ink with the correct viscosity for my Rapidograph pens. After some experimentation, I decided to use air brush ink. This type of ink seemed to work fine and did not clog the pen tips. I did a lot of experimental small drawings. My first serious large 14″ x 17″ drawing was simply titled “Color Drawing #34”.
