Tambora

Tambora is a mechanical mandala. I borrowed elements from earlier mechanical drawings and re-arranged them using a two fold and a four fold symmetry axis. There are spindles, axles, motors, tank tracks, shock absorbers, and conveyor belt rollers along with other geometric objects in this drawing. This drawing required about 100 hours to complete. The drawing was designed with traditional drafting instruments and drawn freehand in ink using Rapidograph .25 mm pens.
